Handles heat and water where particleboard and solid wood give up

Affordable Birch Plywood Worktops with HPL
Made to Order in Riga

Designed for heavy, everyday use — with no special maintenance required

Heat-, Burn-, and Chemical-Resistant Surface

— A hot pan or pot straight from the stove? No trivet needed.

— A smoldering cigarette? Even if left to burn out completely — no mark, no trace.

— Cleaning with strong household chemicals? The surface resists even aggressive agents like acetone.

Our formula for durability — HPL, birch plywood, and acrylic on the edges instead of oil or wax.

HPL plastic is one of the most trusted and long-lasting materials used in public spaces.

You’ll find it on school desks, café tables, and kitchen countertops — and for good reason.

Our countertops combine HPL by the Italian brand Abet Laminati with water-resistant birch plywood.

All exposed edges and sink cutouts are protected with three layers of acrylic lacquer.

After each coat, we carefully sand the surface — this makes it silky-smooth and helps the next layer penetrate deeper, sealing even the tiniest pores.

We don’t use oil or wax — these finishes are applied in just one or two coats without sanding.

They simply seep into the wood but don’t seal the pores, leaving the structure open to moisture and grease.

Over time, this leads to stains, mold, and plywood degradation.

With our method, the edges become fully sealed and take on a unique, glassy finish — smooth, durable, and moisture-resistant.

Experiment: Hot coffee left for one hour

We spilled coffee on two plywood samples and left it for one hour.
The top one was treated with oil and wax — the coffee soaked in and left a stain.

The bottom one was finished with acrylic lacquer — the durable coating protected the surface, no trace remained.

Quiet style, strong character

Even a basic IKEA kitchen feels elevated with this worktop. Made of real birch plywood, protected with durable HPL — not oil, not wax.
It looks like natural wood because it is. But it’s ready for heat, water, and everyday mess.
A balanced choice between chipboard and premium surfaces

Our birch plywood countertop with HPL coating offers a smart compromise between standard chipboard and more expensive options like solid wood, acrylic, or compact laminate.

It costs slightly more than regular HPL-covered chipboard — but the difference is well worth it.

Chipboard countertops often swell at the joints or around the sink.

Water seeps into the porous material and gets absorbed like a sponge.

Sealants and plastic edge bands don’t help — sometimes a single drop is enough to cause damage.

Solid wood countertops treated with oil come with different issues: the weak protective layer requires constant maintenance, yet still doesn’t prevent stains or cracks.

In terms of durability, oil simply can’t match HPL.

A plywood countertop with HPL costs less than solid wood — and lasts longer with less care.

To make your decision easier, we’ve prepared a comparison table: moisture resistance, heat resistance, scratch and stain durability, ease of maintenance, lifespan, and cost.

You’ll see for yourself — birch plywood with HPL is a practical, well-balanced solution.
